Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using MyBibleChat. By creating an account or using our app, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and MyBibleChat ("we", "us", or "our") governing your use of the MyBibleChat mobile application and any related services (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.

2. Description of Service

MyBibleChat is a spiritual wellness application that provides:

AI-assisted pastoral conversations and Bible guidance.
Human pastor sessions through our Shepherd's Hour feature (subscription required).
Community chat channels, prayer journals, and gratitude journals.
Bible study tools, daily lessons, and prayer features.
Push notification-based check-ins and pastoral reminders.

The Service is intended for personal spiritual growth and general wellness purposes only. It is not a substitute for professional medical, psychiatric, or licensed counseling services.

3. Account Registration

To access most features of MyBibleChat, you must create an account. You agree to:

Provide accurate, complete, and current information when registering.
Maintain the confidentiality of your password and account credentials.
Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account.
Notify us immediately at contact@mybible.chat if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend accounts that we determine, in our sole discretion, have violated these Terms.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use MyBibleChat only for lawful purposes and in a manner that respects other users and our community. You must not:

Post content that is abusive, harassing, threatening, hateful, defamatory, or obscene.
Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
Upload or share content that infringes any intellectual property rights.
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or its related systems.
Use automated bots, scrapers, or other tools to access or collect data from the Service.
Use the Service to distribute spam, malware, or other harmful content.
Exploit or harm minors in any way through the Service.
Engage in any activity that disrupts or interferes with the Service or its servers.

5. Pastoral Content Disclaimer

MyBibleChat provides AI-generated pastoral guidance and facilitates sessions with volunteer or contracted human pastors. You understand and agree that:

Our AI pastoral assistant is not a licensed therapist, psychiatrist, or mental health professional. Responses are for general spiritual encouragement only.
Human pastors on our platform are not licensed mental health practitioners unless explicitly stated. Sessions are spiritual in nature, not clinical.

We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of any pastoral or spiritual content provided through the Service.

6. Subscriptions and Payments

Certain features, including Shepherd's Hour human pastor sessions, require a paid subscription. By subscribing, you agree that:

Subscriptions are processed through Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store) and are subject to their respective billing terms.
Subscription fees are charged at the beginning of each billing period and are non-refundable except as required by applicable law or platform policy.
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your device's App Store or Play Store settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Refund requests must be directed to Apple or Google, not to MyBibleChat directly.
We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with reasonable advance notice.

7. User-Generated Content

You retain ownership of content you create and share within MyBibleChat (such as journal entries, community posts, and messages). By submitting content to the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, display, and process that content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Service. We do not sell your personal content to third parties.

You are solely responsible for the content you post. We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms or our community standards.

8. Privacy

Your use of MyBibleChat is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand our practices.

9. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of the Service — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, images, audio clips, and software — are the exclusive property of MyBibleChat or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works without our prior written consent.

10. Third-Party Services

MyBibleChat integrates with third-party services including OpenAI, RevenueCat, Google Cloud Storage, and Expo. Your use of these services through MyBibleChat is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party services.

11. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, BIBLECHAT AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless MyBibleChat and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

14. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service at our sole discretion, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including Sections 7, 9, 11, 12, 13, and 16.

15. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via in-app notification or email. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of the revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, please discontinue use of the Service.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Singapore, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved exclusively in the courts located in Singapore, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in such courts.
